SAVE Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: October 27, 2026
Last updated: October 27, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy (the "Policy") explains how SAVE subscriptions renew, how to cancel, and when we give refunds. It is part of the SAVE Terms of Service at https://saveprivacy.net/terms (the "Terms"). If this Policy and the Terms conflict on how billing, cancellation or refunds work, this Policy controls. For everything else, including how disputes are resolved, the Terms control (see Section 15). Our Privacy Policy at https://saveprivacy.net/privacy explains how we handle personal information.
SAVE is operated by NEXT MATH INC, a corporation organized under the laws of Delaware, 220 East 23rd Street, STE 400, New York, NY 10010, United States ("SAVE," "we," "us" or "our"). NEXT MATH INC is the seller and the merchant of record for every payment, and is responsible for charges, refunds and support. A third-party payment processor processes payments for us. You can reach Support by email at [email protected] or by phone at +1 (347) 690-0190 (calls and voicemail; we reply by email). We reply within 1 business day. We never call or text you.
- Paid plans renew automatically every month, and we charge you each month until you cancel.
- The price may change. If it goes up, we will email you at least 10 days and no more than 30 days before your first charge at the new price, and you can cancel before then.
- You can cancel anytime: online at https://saveprivacy.net/cancel (the "Manage or cancel subscription" link on every page of our website and in our emails; every receipt also links to the page where you manage your Subscription), or by email, which we process within one business day. You don't need to give a reason, and there is no fee.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. You keep the Service until then, and we won't charge you again.
- 30-day money-back guarantee on your Initial Payment only. If you've never received a SAVE money-back refund, email us within 30 days of your first charge and we will refund that payment in full. It is available once per Subscriber, Household, payment method and Covered Person. A guarantee refund ends your service right away.
- Monthly renewals and partial months are not refundable, except as Sections 6 and 7 describe, where the law requires a refund, or when we choose to refund at our discretion (Section 7.3).
- We can't guarantee removals. Each site decides whether and when to remove your information (Section 5.5).
The sections below give the full terms.
In this Policy:
1.1 "Service" means the paid SAVE privacy service described for your Plan at checkout and in Section 4.2 of the Terms. For each Covered Person, it includes: the Intake Form; a full check of the people-search and data-broker sites we cover (currently 450+ sites, listed at https://saveprivacy.net/covered-sites; the list changes as sites open, close or change their procedures); a first Report by email with screenshots of the Listings we find; opt-out and removal requests that we submit as the Covered Person's authorized agent; monthly re-checks of the covered sites and new requests when a Listing reappears; and a monthly Report by email. We may use service providers to perform part of the Service. The Free Check on our website (Terms, Section 3) is not part of the paid Service.
1.2 "Subscription" means your paid, automatically renewing monthly plan for the Service.
1.3 "Plan" means either Individual (one person) or Family (the Subscriber plus up to 4 other adults in the Subscriber's Household).
1.4 "Subscriber" means the person who buys the Subscription and whose payment method is charged. On a Family Plan, the Subscriber is the account holder.
1.5 "Covered Person" means each person the Service is provided for under a Subscription. On an Individual Plan, that is the Subscriber. On a Family Plan, it is the Subscriber and each Family Member.
1.6 "Initial Payment" means the first charge on a Subscription.
1.7 "Billing Period" means each one-month period that you pay for in advance. Your first Billing Period starts on the date of your Initial Payment.
1.8 "Billing Date" means the date each month on which we charge for the next Billing Period. Our payment processor charges at the same time each month as your Initial Payment, on the same day of the month counted in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), or on that month's last day when it has no such day. Where you are, that is usually the same day of the month as your Initial Payment (or the last day of a shorter month); for a purchase made in the evening in U.S. time near the end of a month it can be the last day of every month, or the second-to-last day of a shorter month, and for a purchase made close to midnight a charge can fall on the day before or after. The checkout page states the rule that applies to you and your next charge date, and so do your confirmation email and every renewal reminder.
1.9 "Household" means the people who live at the same residential address. For the Guarantee, we identify a Household by the billing ZIP code given at checkout, together with the Subscriber's email address, the payment method and the names of the Covered Persons.
1.10 "Guarantee" means the 30-day money-back guarantee described in Section 6.
1.11 "Guarantee-eligible Subscription" means a Subscription for which no Guarantee refund was already given on an earlier Subscription that was paid for by the Subscriber, by anyone in the Subscriber's Household (Section 1.9) or with the same payment method, or that covered any Covered Person on this Subscription.
1.12 "Customer Portal" means the secure subscription-management page that our payment processor hosts for us. You open it from https://saveprivacy.net/cancel, where our payment processor asks for the email address on your Subscription and emails you a secure sign-in link or code, or from the link in every receipt.
1.13 "Authorization" means each Covered Person's appointment of us as their authorized agent, so that we can submit requests in their name, as described in Sections 6 and 7 of the Terms: the Subscriber makes it by clicking "Agree and continue" at checkout, under the notice that says so, and completing the purchase (a Subscriber who bought before our checkout notice included the appointment makes it by signing the separate authorization we email them, Terms Section 6.1); each adult Family Member makes it by signing their own authorization electronically, typing their full name in their reply to the invitation we email them (Section 8.2(a)).
1.14 "Family Member" means a Covered Person other than the Subscriber on a Family Plan.
1.15 Capitalized terms that this Policy does not define, such as "Free Check," "Data Broker," "Intake Form," "Listing," "Removal Request" and "Report," have the meanings given in the Terms.
2.1 Plans and prices. The current monthly prices are:
- Who it covers
- 1 person
- Price
- $3.99 per month
- Who it covers
- You plus up to 4 other adults in your Household
- Price
- $11 per month
All prices are in U.S. dollars and are the total you pay: we do not add tax or any other fee at checkout.
2.2 Automatic renewal. Your Subscription renews automatically each month. On each Billing Date, until you cancel, we charge the monthly price for the next Billing Period. By subscribing, you authorize us, through our payment processor, to charge your payment method:
(a) the price shown at checkout on the day you subscribe; and
(b) the then-current monthly price for your Plan on each Billing Date after that, until you cancel.
The then-current price is the price shown at checkout, unless we have given you notice of a new price under Section 12. The price may change. If it goes up, we will email you at least 10 days and no more than 30 days before your first charge at the new price, and you can cancel before then.
Before the payment form appears, our checkout page shows a block titled "Renews automatically". In plain view inside that block, right above the box, and not behind a link or a button, it states: the Plan you chose, who it covers and what it does, and that removal is not guaranteed; the amount due today, in U.S. dollars, and that your Subscription then renews automatically at that price every month on your Billing Date until you cancel, with the rule your Billing Date follows; how to cancel, online or by email, the date of the next charge and that you must cancel before then to avoid that charge, and that your Plan stays active until the end of the Billing Period you have paid for, with no refund of partial months except as this Policy says; and that the price may change and that we email you first. You must then check one box, which is never checked in advance: inside the block, directly below those terms, it says "I agree to the automatic renewal terms above." Directly above the "Agree and continue" button, with nothing between them, a notice states that by clicking it you agree to the Terms, including their Section 20, and to this Policy, appoint us as your authorized agent to file opt-out requests for you (Section 1.13), and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, each document linked. Directly below the button, the page states "By continuing you enroll in automatic renewal", next to a "Details" button that opens, on the same page, the full list of what your Plan includes, with a link to the dated list of the sites we cover; that if the price goes up, we email you at least 10 and no more than 30 days before your first charge at the new price, and you can cancel before then (Section 12.1); that there is no minimum term; that the Guarantee covers your first payment only, how to ask for it and its limits (Section 6); how the charge appears on your card statement (Section 2.4); and how you can pay and who processes the payment (Section 2.3). When your monthly charge time is close to midnight where you are, "Details" also explains why a charge can fall a day earlier or later. Below "Details", in plain view and in the same size of text as the body of the renewal terms, the page names the seller, NEXT MATH INC, with its full street address, 220 East 23rd Street, STE 400, New York, NY 10010, United States, and says how to get these details and this Policy by email. Until you check the box and click "Agree and continue", the payment form does not appear. Next to the payment button, the payment form repeats that by subscribing you enroll in automatic renewal at that price, today and then every month until you cancel, with the link to cancel, that your Plan stays active until the end of the Billing Period you have paid for, with no refund of partial months except as this Policy says, and that the price may change and we email you first. It also states that you confirm your agreement to the Terms and this Policy, appoint us as your authorized agent, acknowledge our Privacy Policy and authorize the recurring charge. While the payment form is on screen, the page beside it keeps showing the renewal terms, how and by when to cancel, that the price may change, and the seller with its street address and country. We charge you only after you click the payment button.
We keep a record of the exact words of the box and that you checked it, the exact words of the notice above the button (including the words that appoint us as your authorized agent) with a fingerprint of them and the button's label, the words the notice and the button showed on your screen when you clicked (as our page read them back), where the notice was when you clicked and which version of our checkout page you saw, the full text of the checkout disclosure you were shown with its version and a fingerprint of it (a SHA-256 hash) and each of its parts on its own (the renewal terms above the box, the statement below the button, what "Details" contained and the seller line), whether you opened "Details" before you clicked, whether our page found the renewal terms and the seller line laid out on the page (not collapsed or hidden) when you clicked, the dates the disclosure named and your time zone, the version of the Terms, this Policy and our Privacy Policy that the notice linked (each one's effective and "Last updated" dates and a fingerprint of its text), the words shown next to the payment button, the plan, price and currency, the date and time, IP address, browser and approximate country, and, once you have paid, your email address, the identifiers of your payment, customer record and subscription, and the brand, last four digits and our payment processor's fingerprint of the card charged, as proof of your consent (Privacy Policy, Sections 3.4 and 12).
After your Initial Payment, you receive a receipt by email, and we email you a confirmation that you can keep: your Plan and what it includes, today's amount and the monthly amount that follows, your next charge date, that the price may change and how we tell you first, the card charged (its brand and last four digits), that there is no minimum term, this Policy's cancellation and refund rules (including the Guarantee and its deadline), how to cancel and by when, a copy of the automatic renewal terms shown above the box, of the exact wording of the box you checked and of the notice you accepted, and our contact details. The page you see right after paying shows the same confirmation.
2.3 How you pay. You pay on our checkout page by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Our payment processor processes the payment. We never see or store your full card number. We never call or text you, and we will never ask for your full card number, bank login or security code by email. If someone claiming to be from SAVE calls or texts you, or asks for these details, do not provide them. Contact Support instead.
2.4 Statement descriptor. Charges appear on your card statement as SAVEPRIVACY.
2.5 Receipts. We email a receipt for every charge to the email address on your Subscription. Each receipt shows the amount, the Billing Period, how the charge will appear on your statement, how to cancel, and a link to manage or cancel your Subscription.
2.6 Reminders before each renewal. Before each Billing Date (about 7 days ahead), we email you the amount we will charge, the date and how to cancel. Once a year, 25 to 40 days before the Billing Date that starts each new 12-month period of your Subscription, we email you a yearly reminder of your Plan, its price and billing frequency, that Billing Date and how to cancel; if you have not received one during a calendar year, we send it in December. If your billing address is in California, you also receive the notice in Section 24.1(a) of the Terms each year on or before June 30.
2.7 The Free Check is free. You don't need a payment method for the Free Check on our website, and it never turns into a paid Subscription on its own.
You can cancel at any time, for any reason, in either of the ways below. A cancellation counts from the moment we receive it.
3.1 Online. Go to https://saveprivacy.net/cancel and choose Manage or cancel subscription. Our payment processor asks for the email address on your Subscription and emails you a secure sign-in link or code; then cancel your Subscription in the Customer Portal and confirm. You don't need to contact anyone or give a reason, and the confirmation appears on screen right away. The same page is linked as "Manage or cancel subscription" at the bottom of every page of our website and in our emails, and every receipt links to the Customer Portal.
3.2 By email. Email [email protected] from the address on your Subscription and tell us you want to cancel. Any email that clearly asks us to cancel counts, whatever its wording or subject line. If you write from an address that is not on your Subscription, include the name and email address on the Subscription so we can find it. We cancel within one business day after we receive your email and confirm by email.
3.3 Confirmation. We confirm every cancellation by email, including the date your Service ends. If you canceled by email and don't receive a confirmation within one business day, contact Support. Please keep the confirmation for your records.
3.4 No runaround.
(a) Online: the Customer Portal lets you finish canceling without seeing any offer. If we ever show an offer there, the option to finish canceling will stay visible the whole time.
(b) By email: we cancel first. Any offer comes in our confirmation, at most once, and never delays or conditions the cancellation.
3.5 Who can cancel. Only the Subscriber, or someone the Subscriber has authorized, can cancel a Subscription. On a Family Plan, Family Members can't cancel the Subscription, but they can leave it at any time (Section 8.7).
3.6 Canceling doesn't request a refund. Canceling on its own only stops future charges. If you want a refund under the Guarantee, ask for it as described in Section 6.3.
3.7 No fees. Canceling is free, online or by email.
4.1 End of the paid period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current Billing Period. Your Service continues until then, and we won't charge you again. If a renewal payment has failed and you cancel during the Retry Period, your Subscription ends right away instead (Section 10.2).
4.2 No partial-period refunds. We don't refund the unused part of a Billing Period when you cancel, except as stated in Sections 6 and 7.
4.3 Timing near a renewal. To avoid the next charge, cancel before your next Billing Date. If you canceled, or asked us to cancel in any way described in Section 3, before a Billing Date and we still charged you, we will refund that charge in full.
4.4 Changing your mind. Until your current Billing Period ends, you can undo the cancellation in the Customer Portal or by emailing Support. Your Subscription then continues on the same terms. After the Billing Period ends, you'll need to start a new Subscription at the price in effect at that time.
5.1 Until your Service ends. Until the end of your final Billing Period, we keep working as usual. That includes submitting and following up on removal requests, re-checking sites and sending Reports.
5.2 After your Service ends:
(a) We stop submitting new removal requests, following up on pending ones, re-checking sites for re-listings, re-submitting requests when records reappear and sending monthly Reports.
(b) Our authority to act as each Covered Person's authorized agent ends. We will not submit or follow up on requests for them after that date. If a site contacts us about a request, we may tell it that we no longer represent that person.
(c) Requests we have already submitted stay with the sites that received them. Many sites will still process them, but some may ask the person to confirm the request directly. If a site contacts you, you can reply to it yourself.
(d) Your information may reappear on sites later. Data brokers often collect and publish records again, and we will no longer re-check sites for you.
(e) Within 10 business days after your Service ends, we will email you a final status summary listing the sites we submitted requests to and the last status we recorded for each. On a Family Plan, each adult Family Member receives their own summary.
5.3 If you receive a Guarantee refund, your Service ends right away and Section 5.2 applies from the time we process the refund.
5.4 Your information. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy. We keep records that we must or may keep by law. These include billing, consent, cancellation and refund records, our log of the requests we submitted for you, and our emails with you. We keep them to meet legal obligations and to handle disputes and chargebacks, for the periods in Section 12 of our Privacy Policy. If you ask us to delete the details we need for removals while your Subscription is active, we will explain what we can no longer do without them. If we can no longer provide the removal work, we will cancel your Subscription at the end of the current Billing Period, unless you cancel sooner.
5.5 What the Service is, and what we can't promise.
(a) What providing the Service means. We provide the Service by checking the sites we cover, sending Reports, submitting and following up on requests, and re-checking sites. Providing the Service does not mean achieving any particular removal result.
(b) Sites decide. Removals depend on third-party sites that we don't control. We can't guarantee that any site will list you, remove information, or keep removed information off its site. Sites act on their own timelines.
(c) Agent limits. Depending on your state's law and each site's rules, some sites accept only certain kinds of requests from an agent, or require the person to confirm or submit a request themselves. We'll tell you in your Report when that happens and how to do it.
(d) Your cooperation. If you or a Covered Person don't complete the Intake Form, don't give us information we need, or don't respond when a site asks you to confirm a request, we can't complete those requests. That is not a failure by us to provide the Service.
(e) What we can't remove. We can't remove government or court records, and we don't remove content on social media or news sites. We don't send requests to Google or other search engines (Terms, Section 4.5(a)), and we don't submit requests for you through California's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP).
(f) Refunds and results. Outside the Guarantee, the result of a removal request is not, by itself, a reason for a refund. This doesn't limit your rights if we fail to provide the Service (Section 7.1(f)), or our ability to refund at our discretion (Section 7.3).
6.1 What the Guarantee covers. If you start a Guarantee-eligible Subscription and ask within 30 days, we will refund its Initial Payment in full. It does not cover any renewal payment, including one at a new Plan's price after a Plan change (Section 9.3).
6.2 Who qualifies. You qualify if all of these are true:
(a) It's a Guarantee-eligible Subscription. The Guarantee is available once per Subscriber, once per Household, once per payment method and once per Covered Person. It does not apply if a Guarantee refund was already given for an earlier Subscription that was paid for by you, by anyone in your Household (Section 1.9) or with the same payment method, or that covered any Covered Person on this Subscription. A card used through Apple Pay or Google Pay counts as the same payment method as the card itself.
(b) You ask in time. We must receive your request within 30 days after the date of the Initial Payment, that is, by 11:59 p.m. in your time zone on the date shown in your confirmation email. For example, if your Initial Payment was on March 1, we must receive your request by 11:59 p.m. your time on March 31.
(c) The charge is not already in dispute. If you have already disputed the Initial Payment with your bank or card issuer, the dispute process applies instead (Section 11).
(d) The information is true. The Guarantee does not apply if false information, someone else's details, or a payment method used without its owner's permission was used to get it.
6.3 How to ask. Email [email protected] from the email address on your Subscription and tell us you want a refund. Any email that clearly asks for a Guarantee refund counts, whatever its subject line. If you write from a different address, include the name and email address on the Subscription. You don't need to give a reason. Please don't send card numbers or other payment details. We don't need them.
6.4 What happens next.
(a) We reply within one business day, and confirm within two business days whether your request qualifies.
(b) If it qualifies, we will cancel your Subscription immediately (not at the end of the Billing Period) and stop all work under Section 5.2 for every Covered Person. We will issue the refund to your original payment method, usually within five business days after confirming and no later than ten business days.
(c) Banks and card issuers usually post refunds within 5 to 10 business days, but timing depends on them. We can't refund to a different card or account, or in cash.
(d) We will email you a confirmation of the refund and the cancellation.
6.5 What the Guarantee does not cover:
- renewal payments, meaning any payment after the Initial Payment, including one at a new Plan's price after a Plan change;
- a Subscription that is not a Guarantee-eligible Subscription; and
- requests we receive more than 30 days after the Initial Payment.
Section 7 still applies in these cases.
6.6 If your request doesn't qualify, we will tell you why, and we treat it as a request to cancel at the end of the current Billing Period, unless you tell us you want to keep your Subscription. We confirm the cancellation by email, and you won't be charged again. If you'd rather keep your Subscription, reply before the end of the current Billing Period and we'll undo the cancellation.
6.7 After a Guarantee refund. We may decline a new Subscription for the same person or Household for 12 months after the refund.
Monthly renewal payments and the unused part of any Billing Period are not refundable, except in the situations below.
7.1 When we will refund:
(a) Billing errors. If we charged you the wrong amount, charged you twice, or charged you after you canceled (Section 4.3), we will refund the incorrect charge.
(b) Charges you say you didn't make. If you tell us that a charge wasn't made by you or by anyone you allowed to use your payment method (including members of your Household), we will cancel your Subscription right away and review the charge. If our records don't show that you or a Covered Person used the Service (for example, no Intake Form completed and no Report sent), we will refund the most recent charge. For any other charge, we will show you what our records show. This doesn't limit your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
(c) We end the Service. If we end your Subscription or stop providing the Service for a reason other than your breach of the Terms, we will refund the unused part of your current Billing Period, prorated by day.
(d) Material reductions. If we make a change that materially reduces the Service during your Subscription, you may cancel within 30 days after the change takes effect, and we will refund the unused part of your current Billing Period, prorated by day. Changes to the list of sites in the ordinary course are not material reductions (Terms, Sections 4.3 and 12.5).
(e) Price increases. See Section 12.3.
(f) If we fail to provide the Service. If we don't provide the Service described in Section 5.5(a) with reasonable care in a Billing Period you paid for, tell us. We will re-perform the affected work promptly or, if we can't, refund that Billing Period's payment in full to your original payment method (Terms, Section 17.2).
(g) Transfer to a new owner. If we transfer the Terms to a new owner and you cancel within 30 days after our notice, we will refund the unused part of your current Billing Period, prorated by day (Terms, Section 25.2).
(h) Where the law requires it. Nothing in this Policy limits any refund right or other remedy you have under applicable law that cannot be waived by contract.
7.2 If we end your Subscription for a breach. If we end your Subscription because you broke the Terms, we don't refund the current Billing Period, unless the law requires a refund or the charge was not authorized (Section 7.1(b)). Grounds include:
(a) giving false information, or someone else's information without authority;
(b) adding someone to a Family Plan who does not meet Section 8.2;
(c) using the Service to locate, monitor or harass anyone; and
(d) threats or harassment toward our staff, or repeated abusive messages after we have warned you in writing.
We will tell you the reason in writing when we end a Subscription under this Section.
7.3 Refunds at our discretion. We may also give a full or partial refund, or a credit, in a situation this Policy doesn't require, for example when we could not submit any removal request for a Covered Person because none of the sites we cover listed them or accepted a request from an agent. Whether to refund, and how much, is our decision. Doing so once doesn't oblige us to do it again.
8.1 One price, up to five adults. The Family Plan costs $11 per month for the Subscriber plus up to 4 other adults in the Subscriber's Household, so up to 5 Covered Persons. The price is the same whether you add 1 person or 4. Adding fewer people doesn't reduce the price, and removing someone doesn't create a refund.
8.2 Who you may add.
(a) Adults (18 or older) who authorize us themselves. You may add an adult only if they want to be covered. You give us their name and email address, and we email them their own invitation. Before we do any work for an adult Family Member, that person must reply to it from their own email address and, in that reply, confirm that they want to be covered, sign their own Authorization, accept the Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, and complete their Intake Form (or tell us they have nothing to add). Your word alone is not enough. If they decline, or do not respond within 60 days, we delete the details you gave us about them, except a record of the invitation and the answer.
(b) Your Household only, and no minors. Family Members must be adults who live in your Household. No one under 18 can be added. You may not resell or share the Plan with others.
8.3 Each adult's information belongs to them. An adult Family Member's Reports are private to them.
(a) Reports go only to that Family Member.
(b) The Subscriber can see whether each adult Family Member has accepted the invitation and is covered.
(c) The Subscriber sees a status summary, such as how many sites we found and how many requests are complete, only if that Family Member agrees. They can withdraw that agreement at any time.
(d) We never share the contents of an adult Family Member's Listings or Reports with the Subscriber, such as their screenshots, addresses, phone numbers or relatives.
8.4 Your promise about eligibility. Each time you add a person, you confirm that they meet Section 8.2. You are responsible for any false statement about that, as Section 19 of the Terms describes.
8.5 Our right to refuse or stop. We may refuse to act, or stop acting, for any Family Member if:
(a) we reasonably doubt that the person agreed or that they meet Section 8.2; or
(b) we believe that acting could put someone at risk, for example by helping someone locate or monitor another person.
If this happens, the Plan price stays the same, and the Guarantee still applies if you qualify. If you gave us false information, Section 7.2 applies.
8.6 The Subscriber controls billing. Only the Subscriber can change the Plan, update the payment method or request a refund. Only the Subscriber, or someone the Subscriber has authorized, can cancel (Section 3.5). Refunds go to the Subscriber's original payment method.
8.7 Family Members can leave. Any Family Member can ask to be removed from a Family Plan at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will then stop acting for that person, and Section 5.2 applies to them. The Subscriber can replace a removed Family Member with a new one, up to 2 replacements in any 12 months, and each new adult must sign their own Authorization (Section 8.2(a)).
8.8 Cancellation ends coverage for everyone. When a Family Plan Subscription ends, the Service ends for every Covered Person.
8.9 Guarantee on a Family Plan. The Guarantee covers the Initial Payment of the Family Plan as a whole. A Guarantee refund on a Family Plan counts as the one Guarantee for the Subscriber, the Subscriber's Household, the payment method and every Covered Person on it.
9.1 How to change Plans. To switch between Individual and Family, email [email protected] from the email address on your Subscription and tell us which Plan you want. Plan changes are not available in the Customer Portal. Before we make a change, we email you the new Plan, its monthly price and the date the change takes effect, and we make it only after you confirm by replying: within 1 business day of your confirmation or, where Section 9.2 says so, just after your next Billing Date's charge. We record the change and email you a confirmation of your new Plan, its price, when you will be charged and how to cancel (Section 13.2).
9.2 When a change takes effect. A Plan change, from Individual to Family or from Family to Individual, takes effect at the start of your next Billing Period, on the first Billing Date after we make the change. So that the reminder we email before each charge (Section 2.6) always states the right amount, if you confirm a change less than 7 days before your next Billing Date, we make it just after that Billing Date's charge, and it takes effect on the Billing Date after that; our email before the change gives you that date. From the date it takes effect, you pay the new Plan's price on your existing Billing Date. Nothing is charged, prorated or refunded for the change itself, and your current Plan continues until then. When you move from Family to Individual, the Service ends for every Family Member at that time, and Section 5.2 applies to them.
9.3 The Guarantee doesn't restart. Changing Plans doesn't start a new Subscription. If you change Plans within 30 days after a Guarantee-eligible Initial Payment, the Guarantee still covers only the Initial Payment, not a later payment at the new Plan's price.
10.1 We'll let you know. If a renewal payment fails, we will email you and ask you to update your payment method in the Customer Portal.
10.2 Automatic retries. Our payment processor will retry the payment automatically, up to 8 times over up to 14 days (the "Retry Period"). You can stop retries at any time by canceling. If you cancel during the Retry Period, online or by email, we stop the retries at once and your Subscription ends right away: the month you paid for has already ended, and the payment that failed is not charged. Section 5.2 applies. If a retry still charges you after you canceled, we refund that charge in full (Section 4.3).
10.3 During the Retry Period, we keep re-checking sites, but we may pause new removal requests. If the payment succeeds, we resume and catch up on any paused work, and your Billing Date stays the same.
10.4 If all retries fail, your Subscription ends at the end of the Retry Period, and Section 5.2 applies. You won't owe anything for the period after your Subscription ends, and we won't send that amount to collections.
10.5 Updated card details. If your card is replaced or its expiration date changes, your card issuer may give our payment processor the updated details. We may then use them to continue your Subscription. If you don't want this, cancel or change your payment method in the Customer Portal.
11.1 Please contact us first. If a charge looks wrong, email Support before you contact your bank. We reply within one business day. We can usually fix billing problems, including issuing any refund this Policy allows, faster than a bank dispute can. Nothing in this Policy limits your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
11.2 What happens if you open a dispute:
(a) We cancel the Subscription right away. So that your payment method isn't charged again, we cancel the Subscription as soon as we learn of the dispute, and the Service ends for every Covered Person (Section 5.2 applies). We confirm this by email.
(b) We may respond to your bank. Through our payment processor, we may send your card issuer and the card network information relevant to the dispute. This may include your checkout consent record, the IP address and device information from your checkout, receipts and reminders we sent, our emails with you about your Subscription, a delivery log of the Reports we sent (dates and recipient address only), and a summary of the work we did for you (the names of the sites we checked or contacted and the dates and status of the requests). We do not give them your removal details, such as your date of birth or past addresses, the contents of your Reports or screenshots of your Listings.
(c) We generally can't also refund the charge. Once a dispute is open, the card issuer decides the outcome. If you have already received a refund for the charge, we will give the issuer proof of that refund.
11.3 After the dispute is decided, the canceled Subscription stays canceled, whatever the outcome. If it's decided in your favor, the card issuer returns the disputed amount to you. If it's decided in our favor, the charge stands. Either way, you can start a new Subscription at any time, subject to Section 11.4.
11.4 Disputes of charges you authorized. We may refuse future Subscriptions from anyone who, in bad faith, disputes charges that they authorized and received the Service for, or who disputes a charge we have already refunded.
11.5 Fraud warnings from your card issuer. If your card issuer tells us, through our payment processor, that a charge may not have been authorized by the cardholder (an "early fraud warning," which comes before any dispute), we refund that charge in full to the payment method it was made with, unless it has already been refunded or disputed, and cancel the Subscription right away. We email the address on the Subscription that it has ended, and that the charge was refunded.
12.1 Notice before any increase. We may change the price of a Plan. If we raise the price of your existing Subscription, we will email you at least 10 days and no more than 30 days before your first charge at the new price. The notice will show the new price, the date it takes effect and how to cancel. A new price never applies to a Billing Period you have already paid for.
12.2 Your choice. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect and you won't be charged it.
12.3 Refund after a price increase. This Section applies wherever you live. If you did not actively agree to the new price (for example, by clicking "I agree to the new price" in our notice), and you cancel within 14 days after your first charge at the new price, we will refund the unused part of that charge, prorated by day.
12.4 Promotional prices. If we ever offer a discounted or introductory price, the checkout page will show the regular price and the date it starts before you pay. We will also follow any advance-notice rules that apply to that offer.
12.5 Changes to the Service. We may update features and the list of sites we cover, as Section 12 of the Terms describes. If a change materially reduces the Service, Section 7.1(d) applies.
13.1 Where we send notices. We send receipts, reminders, Reports and notices about your Subscription to the email address on your Subscription. Please keep it up to date. To change it, email Support from that address and tell us the new one; we make the change within 1 business day and confirm it by email to both addresses. If you can no longer use that address, write to us from the new one with the name on your Subscription and the old address. Because the new address will receive your Reports and can open the Customer Portal, we first check that you are the Subscriber: we ask for the last four digits of the card on your Subscription, its billing ZIP code, and the amount and date of a recent charge, and we email a notice of the request to the old address. We make the change only after the details match and at least 3 business days after that notice, and not if anyone objects from the old address in the meantime; we then confirm it by email to both addresses. If the details don't match, we don't make the change, but you can still cancel by email (Section 3.2). The Customer Portal does not offer email changes.
13.2 Records of your consent. We keep a record of your agreement to the automatic renewal terms, of your acceptance of the Terms and this Policy, and of your appointment of us as your authorized agent. It includes the exact text of the automatic-renewal box you checked and of the notice you accepted by clicking "Agree and continue" at checkout, with a fingerprint of the notice, the button's label, the words on your screen when you clicked, where the notice was and which version of our checkout page you saw; the full text of the checkout disclosure you were shown with its version and fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash), and each of its parts on its own: the renewal terms shown above the box, the statement below the button, what "Details" contained and the seller line; whether you opened "Details" before you clicked; whether our page found the renewal terms and the seller line laid out on the page (not collapsed or hidden) when you clicked; the version of the Terms and this Policy you accepted and of our Privacy Policy you acknowledged (each one's effective and "Last updated" dates and fingerprint); the words shown next to the payment button; the plan and price; when you agreed; the IP address and browser you used; and, once you have paid, the brand, last four digits and fingerprint of the card charged. If you change Plans (Section 9), we also keep a record of the change: the old and new Plan and price, the email in which you confirmed it, and when we made the change. We keep it for the life of your Subscription plus 5 years, as Section 12 of our Privacy Policy describes. The confirmation we email after your first payment includes a copy of the automatic renewal terms shown above the box and of the wording you agreed to, and you can ask us for a copy of the record at any time.
14.1 Posting. We may update this Policy. When we do, we will post the new version at https://saveprivacy.net/refunds and update the "Last updated" date.
14.2 Notice to Subscribers. If a change materially affects active Subscribers, we will email you at least 10 days and no more than 30 days before it takes effect. The email will explain the change and tell you how to cancel. The change will not apply to you before then.
14.3 Your choice. If you don't agree with the change, cancel before it takes effect. If you keep your Subscription after that date, the change applies to you from that date.
14.4 What changes never do. Changes never apply to a payment made before the change, or to a refund request we received before the change.
15.1 Governing law. This Policy is governed by the laws of New York, as Section 21 of the Terms describes.
15.2 Disputes. Any dispute about this Policy is resolved under Section 20 of the Terms (Dispute Resolution, Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver), including its informal-resolution step and your right to opt out of arbitration within 30 days (Terms, Section 20.11). The precedence sentence at the start of this Policy covers only how billing, cancellation and refunds work. It does not take any dispute outside Section 20 of the Terms.
15.3 Your rights. Consumer protection laws in your state of residence may still apply where they cannot be waived. If any part of this Policy is unenforceable as applied to you, the rest remains in effect, and that part applies to the extent the law allows.
